Polmed’s Mental Health Programme offers support to members who are diagnosed with mental health conditions such as depression, bipolar mood disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, and alcohol and substance abuse.

The Programme aims to collaborate with you, your doctor and, where appropriate, other healthcare providers to assist in improving your mental health and wellbeing.

Registration

Polmed will automatically identify members eligible for registration to the Mental Health Programme based on claims for admissions, chronic medication, etc. Members are then contacted to be registered on the Programme.

You or your healthcare provider may also request to be registered on the programme by calling 0860 765 633 or sending an email to polpsych@medscheme.co.za.

Note: Registration is subject to clinical criteria assessed during a telephonic conversation with the Care Manager.

Members registered on the Programme will receive a Mental Health Care Plan listing the care/services they have access to in order to manage their condition, as well as advice and support from a Care Manager.
