He is 56 years old now. Mr Nkosi was appointed as the Deputy National Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Specialised Investigations at the rank of Lieutenant General, with effect from 01 November 2022.
His career within the police service started as a police student in August 2008. After that, he started working at the former Kwa-Ndebele Police until the amalgamation of police forces in 1994.
Mr Nkosi has worked as a detective since 2008. Throughout his career, he has held several positions within the SAPS, which include Branch Commander, Banking Crime Group Commander, Provincial Commander and Section Head, within the various units of the SAPS.
He has been a member of the Polmed Board since August 2018.

Mr RP Ntsime
Mr Ntsime is the Acting Deputy General Secretary of the South African Policing Union (SAPU) since July 2020, having previously served as the Provincial Chairperson of SAPU in Gauteng from 2016 and having held several positions within the union during the eight years prior to that.
He also serves in the rank of Warrant Officer in the South African Police Service. Having started his career with SAPS in the Detective Office in 1994, he was promoted to Special Investigations in 1999 – a position he held until 2016.
Mr Ntsime also has extensive board experience, having been on the Board of Trustees of the Government Employees Provident Fund (GEPF) and its various sub-committees between 2009 and 2017. Thereafter he held the position of FinCom member on the Safety and Security Sectoral Bargaining Council (SSSBC) Board from 2018 to 2020.
Mr Ntsime was appointed to the Polmed Board on 20 October 2020.

Ms NJ Khauoe
Principal Officer
Ms Khauoe is an accomplished and multi-skilled individual with more than 25 years of managerial experience in the healthcare and medical scheme environment.
Before joining Polmed, she was the Principal Officer of Sizwe Medical Fund. She also held strategic and senior roles as General Manager, Scheme Executive, Client Relationship Manager and Provider Relations Manager. Her experience has enabled her to acquire management, administrative, strategic, organisational, stakeholder liaison, networking, decision making, diplomacy, protocol and communication skills – with emphasis placed on governance and compliance.
Some of her successes include managing the Administration and Managed Care contract at Metropolitan Health, which contributed to Polmed’s success as reported in the media by independent companies such as Alexander Forbes. In 2014, she spearheaded the takeover of the strategic management of Sizwe Medical Fund out of curatorship. When she left, the Scheme was in a stable condition with a positive financial outlook.
Since assuming the leadership of Polmed as its Principal Officer, good results have already been observed, as she has made employee satisfaction, member voice, scheme sustainability and stakeholder relations a top priority.
Ms PA Mabotja
Ms Mabotja is the Provincial Treasurer of the Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POPCRU) in Limpopo, having joined the union in 2014.
A police sergeant with 13 years’ experience in the South African Police Service, she also has vast experience in crime prevention and border policing.
She describes herself as a paralegal with financial management skills, whose objective is to ensure that Polmed remains the best financially managed medical aid scheme without compromising on quality, affordability and accessibility for members. She prides herself on the fact that the Limpopo Province was recognised as the Best Financially Managed Province for the period November 2015 – November 2019 while under her leadership as Provincial Treasurer for POPCRU.
Ms Mabotja was appointed to the Polmed Board on 3 December 2020.

Mr SJ Kwena
Lieutenant General Sello Kwena joined the South African Police Service on the 21st of March 1988, immediately after completing matric and was posted at the Riot Unit in Potchefstroom after completing his Police training at Hammanskraal Police College.
He was later transferred to Fochville Police Station where he worked in the Community Service Centre, the Court and at the Investigation and Enquiry section. He became a Station Commander of Makwassie Police Station, then Jouberton Police Station and Mmabatho Police station. He went on to be the Cluster Commander of the Vryburg District.
Lt Gen Kwena was appointed as a Director to Head the Hammanskraal Detective and Crime intelligence Academy and then became the Component Head of In-Service Training and acted as the Divisional Commissioner of Protection and Security Service for more than two years. He was later transferred to Division Visible Policing as a Component Head: Reactive Service. He was later promoted to the Divisional Commissioner: Human Resource Utilisation and transferred to Divisional Commissioner Human Resource Development. He was later transferred to Inspectorate as Divisional Commissioner and thereafter was requested by the National Commissioner to become the Provincial Commissioner of North West Province, the post that he is still holding since 01 January 2020.

Mr Z Skade
Mr Skade is the Provincial Secretary of the Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POPCRU) in the Eastern Cape. Having previously worked for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission as an investigator, Mr Skade joined the South African Police Services in 1998.
His career at SAPS started with crime prevention and investigation duties, before being seconded to POPCRU in 2002. His duties within the organisation expanded to include being their Chief Negotiator, being involved in dispute resolution activities in the Eastern Cape, handling negotiations and arbitrations as well as training shop stewards on labour-related issues.
He was appointed to the Polmed Board on 18 January 2021.

Mr AJ Gerber
Mr Andre Gerber is a Labour law specialist and admitted advocate of the High Court of South Africa and member of the National Bar Council of South Africa and Legal Practice Council.
Mr Gerber has a wealth of forty five years’ experience of the South African Police environment, nineteen years as a police official and twenty six years as a union legal official.
He has been elected as a continuation member to the POLMED Board of Trustees in 2021. As police and legal official, he dedicates his time to ensure that the rights of police and public servants are not disregarded and are enthusiastic that members receive the best medical care and treatment in the workplace. A staunch supporter of positive thinking and attitude. Mr Gerber is a family-oriented person who enjoys tasty food, rugby and is an ardent sourdough bread baker and enthusiast.

Ms HK Senthumule
Ms Senthumule is a seasoned law enforcement officer with 21 years of experience in Counterintelligence, Domestic Security, Organised Crime Investigations, National Security and Security Intelligence from the Civilian Intelligence Services, the South African Police Service and the Hawks. She is currently serving as the Head of Organised Crime Investigations within the Detective Service Division.
Ms Senthumule ascended the ranks of the intelligence services moving from field investigator to operational management and executive management. She has been influential in various initiatives spanning operations, labour relations, development of Education, Training and Development (ETD) Standards, Leadership, Management and International Development.
She was appointed and served on the Board of the International Association for Women Police (IAWP) and served as its SADC Regional Coordinator from 2016 to 2018.
She has been a Polmed Board member since 1 August 2018.

Ms BP Temba
Major General Busi Temba is a registered Psychologist currently heading the Employee Health and Wellness component, which is a unit specifically designated to ensure a healthy and productive workforce within the South African Police Service (SAPS).
Before graduating with a Masters in Psychology at the University of Witwatersrand, she worked as Trauma Specialist in the Trauma Clinic of the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR), a Non-Governmental Organization which offered support and care interventions to Ex- combatants, refugees and any persons who have been exposed to traumatic incidents or torture. While working at the Trauma Clinic she furthered her studies to include a Certificate in Advanced Trauma Management through the SA Institute for Trauma Stress (SAITS).
She then moved to ICAS, a company offering health and wellness services where she held a position of being Trauma Counsellor and later an Employee Assist Program (EAP) Accounts Manager, managing EAP accounts for government departments and private companies. She was then head- hunted into the Public Sector to manage one of the biggest EAP accounts through the Gauteng Shared Services (GSSC), which was an EAP account for all Gauteng Government Employees. Her experience in handling big government Health and Wellness projects opened an opportunity for her to join SAPS as a Head of Psychology designing and implementing interventions and programs aimed at enhancing the mental health of SAPS employees and their families. Her passion in making a difference through support and care interventions got her promoted to her current position of a National Head: Employee Health and Wellness managing the offering of support and care interventions to police officers and their families.
This passionate Trauma Manager also holds a Bachelor of Education qualification with 12 years teaching experience at high school level. She is also a trained police officer who is currently serving in the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Mental Health as well as a Trustee in the Board of Police Medical Scheme (POLMED). She is also actively involved in the SANAC Task Teams on HIV/AIDS and other structures on health and wellness matters within the Safety and Security Cluster.

LT GENERAL PULENG DIMPANE
Lt General PP Dimpane is the Divisional Commissioner in the South African Police Service responsible for Financial Management Services. She was born in the North West Province in the dusty village of Makgobistad in Mahikeng. She is an experienced senior manager with a career spanning more than 20 years in the Public Service, 15 years of which has been at a Senior Management level. She has experience in the field of Auditing and Accounting, having worked at various government departments in the Provincial Sphere such as Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, Provincial Treasury and Department of Health as well as National Government Department of Education. She started her schooling at Diphetogo Primary School in Montshiwa Township in Mahikeng and proceeded to complete her Matric at Batswana Commercial Secondary School in Montshiwa.
Lt General Dimpane completed her Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting and Auditing at the University of North West and also holds a BBA honours degree. She has certificates in risk management as well as strategic management to name but a few.
Lt General Dimpane joined the South African Police Service in 2007 as a Senior Superintendent (Internal Audit Manager). She was responsible for the internal audit unit in the SAPS in the Free State Province. She was promoted to Provincial Head (Brigadier): Finance and Administration Services in the Free State Province a post she occupied for 6 years and was later appointed Chief Financial Officer at Provincial Government (Chief Director).
Lt Gen Dimpane is currently serving on the Board of Trustees for the South African Police Medical Scheme (POLMED). Lt General Dimpane is a dynamic women who is passionate about her work, through her determination, dedication and leadership, the South African Police services has improved audit results for the past two years.

Lieutenant General (Adv) Simosenkosi Wiseman Chamane
Lieutenant General (Adv) Simosenkosi Wiseman Chamane is a Divisional Commissioner accountable for Legal and Policy Services within the SAPS. Previously, the General was a special advisor to the Minister of Police, and he was also a Deputy Director General in the Office of the KZN Premier, where he was responsible for the Institutional Development and Integrity Management Unit. He has held the position of Chief Director at the KZN Department of Transport, responsible for public transport and freight, and was a Director in the same Department, responsible for Legal Services. Before he joined the government, he was a member of the KZN Society of Advocates.
The Advocate formerly served on the water board of uMhlathuze and currently serves as a member of the Umngeni Water Board. He has also served in other community structures.
He holds an LLB and a Diploma in Public Management, and he did his pupillage with the General Council of the Bar of South Africa. He is a member of the High Court of South Africa. Lastly, he is also a member of Idosa.
Innocent Nthabeleng Molefe
Innocentia has dedicated her career to the Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POPCRU), a prominent South African trade union.
